Knowledge Her Germany exam was very good showing strength in many areas. Her Germany paper was good overall, with some minor improvements possible. Her Germany paper was pleasing, and we have discussed simple ways to improve the outcome further. Her Germany exam was not as good as her Medicine paper, however, there are signs that progress is likely. The Germany exam highlights areas for future detailed work. Her Medicine exam was very good showing strength in many areas. Her Medicine paper was good overall, with some minor improvements possible. Her Medicine paper was pleasing, and we have discussed simple ways to improve the outcome further. Her Medicine exam was not as good as her Medicine paper, however, there are signs that progress is likely. The Medicine exam highlights areas for future detailed work. FINAL She has improved significantly on last year's result, and I hope to see continued progress through her work. She remains at her target level in History and needs to work to consolidate this result. Although still below target, she is improving towards it. Currently she is above her target grade, and should work toward consolidating her performance. As her result is below her target, she will need to focus to ensure achievement to be proud of in the summer. Although this result is slightly below target, high input for the remainder of the course should see her meet it. Although not quite as good as last year, # remains at her target level in History. Consolidation is now required. Although this result is slightly below target, it is an improvement on last year, suggesting a satisfactory outcome in the summer. She has reached her target grade, improving on last year, and needs to maintain high levels of effort to continue the trend. TARGETS 1. To remember to give both sides of an historical argument. 1. To use the '2 hand' approach to longer answers appropriately. 1. To ensure her conclusions answer and refer to the relevant part of the question (ie accurate etc). 1. To read questions carefully in order to answer them fully. 1. To develop a firmer understanding of the order of key events. 1. To remember in which era the main events took place. 1. To remember to write a conclusion that is supported by evidence in her answer. 1. To write explicit supporting statements in her conclusions. 1. To ensure she has sufficient knowledge to be confident about her answers. 1. To make sure the depth of her knowledge allows her to provide full answers to longer questions. 1. To review her understanding of post WW1 Germany to increase her knowledge. 1. To answer definitely and not to sit on the fence in essay-style answers. 1. To make clear use of her own knowledge when questions require. 1. To use paragraphs appropriately to show she understands both sides of an argument in an appropriate manner. 1. To plan longer answers and so avoid inserting information or leaving gaps in her analysis. 1. To practise the skills required by exam questions. 1. To ensure she understands the key phrases in the exam questions. 1. To refer to sources by letter when comparing or contrasting them. 1. To include specific reference to sources when the question requires. 1. To remember to include sources and own knowledge when required.
